Why You Can't Rush Your Food or Your Blessings: This Celebrity Chef Shares Her Tactics

Updated: Jan 13, 2019

“I would say I really struggled internally with wanting to rush the blessings God has for me. I had to learn how to be patient and live in the now. We sometimes miss out on the blessings and opportunities God has placed right in front of us because we’re so thirsty and anxious for more.”

Chicago Native, Emani Roberts (@chefemaninicole) , 24, is the Private Chef for Actor and Singer, Tyrese Gibson in Atlanta, GA. Below she shares her greatest accomplishments to date, along with her BLEM/SH, and how she manages to keep doing what she loves despite it all.

“I’ve worked for many A-List celebrities, such as, Cameron Newton, the Chicago Bears, Dallas Cowboys, Atlanta Falcons , Oakland Raiders, Russell Simmons, beauty influencer, Minglee, Teddy Riley, Windy City Live Hostesses, The Braxtons, Fashion Stylist: Luxury Law, Judge Mablean, and many more.”

“I feel as though everyone is always in their head and that makes them sometimes want to give up or makes them feel like they aren’t doing enough. I feel like social media plays a huge in role in that. I sometimes look at those people on social media with high platforms and I think “I am doing every single thing right, so why aren’t I where they are?

“As I grew up and matured, I had to realized everything is about perception and making things look bigger than what they really are. All these people on social media that you see living their ‘best life’ are the ones sometimes crying out for help or really struggling mentally and most importantly spiritually, every single day.”

“My relationship with God is so important to me and I tell people all the time as long as you pray, believe, and keep your faith strong you will never fail. I had to learn if God wanted me to be filthy rich or in a different place in my life right now I would be. We sometimes want to question God so bad like ‘why this, God?’ and ‘why that, God?’ but, I had to learn everything happens for a reason. I rather things be given to me at the right time, rather than me being thirsty and it’s temporary and taken away because I wasn’t ready and didn’t know what to do with it.”

“I would say I really struggled internally with wanting to rush the blessings God has for me. I had to learn how to be patient and live in the now. We sometimes miss out on the blessings and opportunities God has placed right in front of us because we’re so thirsty and anxious for more.”

Fast Forward “Next for me is opening my own small restaurant in my hometown. I am currently working on the business plan for that. As for now, I will continue working and living in Atlanta, GA and continuing to build my platform and branding myself. “
