Chicago Native, Dutch Davis (ig @Dutchtheomen ) , 26, is a Wardrobe Stylist based in the LA area. Below he shares his greatest accomplishments to date, along with his BLEM/SH, and how he manages to keep doing what he loves despite it all.
“My biggest accomplishment so far is moving to Los Angeles 2 years ago. I worked for Gucci & Chanel on Rodeo Dr. and since then I’ve styled clients for red carpets Awards such as The Emmys, NAACP Awards, BET, VMA awards and the Latin Grammys.”
“I’ve worked with the likes of Tory Lanes, Mielle Organics, Erica Mena, Draya Michelle, Jossie Ochoa, and Nike.”
Rewind “Wow. My biggest BLEM/SH I had to face was the loss of my youngest brother, Darrieon, in 2016 and the loss of my best friend, Sean, in 2017. I legit felt as if the devil tried to stop me from my dreams and goals. I legit had a moment where I didn’t want to do anything related to fashion/styling, like it was to a point where I wasn’t getting dressed for myself. But I know if I had to finish what I stared that those two guys would want me to continue to go for my dreams and so I’m here today."

“What’s next for me..... honestly I’m just working every single day on new opportunities that are presented to me. I’ve been styling so much it’s crazy and each job just keeps getting bigger and bigger so I know that my grand time is coming. But my ultimate goal is to work and style for Vogue.”
“Honestly, I would say be consistent, passionate and professional. The work and money will come and go. But your craft will forever remain.”
